Turkish drama Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı is expanding its story with a new character as Season 2 continues. Young actress Hazal Akkın is joining the NOW series as Dilşat, the daughter of Sadullah Ağa, a character played by Yurdaer Okur. The casting news adds another family connection to a drama already built around power, loyalty, love and deeply rooted conflicts.
The news was reported on September 29, 2026, by entertainment journalist Birsen Altuntaş, who revealed that Akkın will enter the story as Dilşat. The report also raises an intriguing possibility: Dilşat may become a partner for Aşır Kordağlı, played by Mert Doğan. That detail has not been presented as a confirmed storyline by NOW, so it remains an expectation rather than an established plot point.
Hazal Akkın Brings a New Character Into the Halef Story
Dilşat arrives at an important point in Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı. The series has already established a dramatic world where family ties, inherited expectations and personal choices constantly collide.
According to the reported casting news, Dilşat is Sadullah Ağa’s daughter, bringing her directly into the expanding network of powerful families and personal relationships at the heart of the series. Yurdaer Okur recently joined the production as Sadullah Ağa, making Dilşat’s arrival another development in the show’s expanding second-season storyline.
Hazal Akkın’s casting also gives the character immediate narrative importance. Rather than introducing someone disconnected from the main conflict, Halef is placing Dilşat within an established family structure. That creates plenty of room for the character to influence existing relationships while developing her own place in the story.
Who Is Aşır Kordağlı?
One of the biggest questions surrounding Dilşat concerns Aşır Kordağlı, portrayed by Mert Doğan.
NOW’s official cast information lists Mert Doğan as Aşır, confirming his place in the current Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı ensemble.
The possibility of Dilşat becoming Aşır’s partner is therefore especially interesting because it could introduce a new relationship while connecting two different parts of the series’ wider family drama. However, the current report only says that the two characters are rumored to become partners. Until the series or its production team confirms the storyline, viewers should treat that development as speculation.
That distinction matters. Turkish television dramas often keep character relationships deliberately under wraps, allowing audience curiosity to build before major developments reach the screen.
Why Dilşat Could Matter in Season 2
Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı has never relied on a simple romantic storyline. Its central premise follows Serhat, a successful surgeon who returns to his roots in Urfa and becomes caught between love, family obligations and the consequences of longstanding conflict.
NOW’s official synopsis describes Serhat’s struggle after returning to his homeland, where his relationship with Melek and his forced marriage to Yıldız place him at the center of a complicated family and emotional conflict. The series combines romance with secrets, power struggles and questions of loyalty.
That environment gives Dilşat plenty of possibilities.
Her connection to Sadullah Ağa could place her close to important decisions, while a possible relationship with Aşır could create another emotional thread. Whether she arrives as a source of tension, a bridge between characters or someone with her own ambitions remains to be seen.
Hazal Akkın’s Arrival Expands the Cast
The casting also reflects the way Halef continues to build its ensemble rather than keeping the story focused on only its central trio.
The official NOW credits currently list İlhan Şen as Serhat, Aybüke Pusat as Melek, Biran Damla Yılmaz as Yıldız, alongside Mert Doğan, Onur Bilge, Sezin Bozacı, Mazlum Çimen and other members of the ensemble. Deniz Çelebi Dikilitaş directs the series, while Ercan Uğur serves as writer and Gül Oğuz produces the project for Most Production.
The production’s decision to add characters such as Sadullah Ağa and now Dilşat suggests that the second-season narrative has more family and relationship threads to explore.
Urfa Remains Central to the Drama
The setting continues to be an important part of Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı. NOW has emphasized Şanlıurfa as the primary setting for the story, using the region’s historical atmosphere and distinctive locations as part of the show’s visual identity.
That backdrop gives the drama a strong sense of place. Family traditions and personal conflicts do not exist separately from the environment; they are deeply connected to the world the characters inhabit.
Dilşat’s introduction could therefore become more than another cast addition. Her arrival has the potential to connect the newer family storyline with Aşır and other established characters.
What Comes Next for Dilşat and Aşır?
For now, the central question remains straightforward: Will Dilşat and Aşır actually become partners?
The current report points toward that possibility, but it does not confirm it as an established storyline.
That uncertainty makes Dilşat one of the more interesting new additions to watch as Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı continues its second season. Hazal Akkın is stepping into a series where family history carries enormous weight, and her character already has a direct connection to one of the production’s newly introduced figures.
As the story develops, viewers will learn whether Dilşat becomes a major force in the family conflicts, a new romantic connection for Aşır, or a character whose ambitions take the story in an unexpected direction.
Final Thought
Hazal Akkın’s arrival gives Halef: Köklerin Çağrısı another character to build around as its second season expands. Dilşat’s connection to Sadullah Ağa immediately gives her narrative importance, while the reported possibility of a relationship with Aşır adds another layer of curiosity. For now, the partnership remains unconfirmed but it is certainly a storyline worth watching.
