Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz: Cemre Baysel and Mert Yazıcıoğlu Lead a Stunning Journey Through Türkiye’s Black Sea

Türkiye’s Black Sea region takes center stage in Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz, a new mini-series bringing together popular actors Cemre Baysel and Mert Yazıcıoğlu for a visually rich journey through one of the country’s most distinctive landscapes.

Created as part of Go Türkiye’s mini-series projects, the production goes beyond conventional television storytelling. Its central attraction is the region itself: lush mountains, traditional culture, local cuisine, historic landmarks and a way of life shaped by the Black Sea’s dramatic geography.

Produced by Sky Film, Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz presents Eastern Black Sea Türkiye through a cinematic lens, giving viewers an opportunity to discover places where natural beauty and regional identity exist side by side.

Cemre Baysel and Mert Yazıcıoğlu Meet in a New Black Sea Story

The pairing of Cemre Baysel and Mert Yazıcıoğlu gives the project a strong contemporary appeal. Both performers are familiar faces to Turkish television audiences, and their involvement adds a recognizable entertainment element to what is also designed as a showcase for tourism.

Rather than treating the landscape as simple background scenery, the production places the destination at the heart of the experience. The journey becomes a way to introduce audiences to the character of the Eastern Black Sea, from its highland communities to its food traditions and remarkable natural settings.

That combination makes the project particularly interesting for viewers searching for Turkish series filmed in scenic locations or anyone curious about travelling through Trabzon, Rize and Artvin.

    The Journey Begins at Uzungöl

The route begins around Uzungöl, one of Trabzon’s best-known natural attractions, before continuing towards the historic Sumela Monastery.

These locations establish the visual character of the series early on. Mountain scenery, dense greenery and historic architecture provide a setting that feels dramatically different from the urban environments commonly associated with Turkish television dramas.

From Trabzon, the journey moves towards Rize, where the region’s famous tea gardens become part of the story.

For international viewers, this section offers more than picturesque views. Tea production is deeply connected with the identity and economy of the eastern Black Sea area, making the landscape an important part of understanding the region itself.

Ayder Plateau, Fırtına Valley and Zilkale

The route continues through Ayder Plateau, Fırtına Valley and Zilkale, bringing together several of the Black Sea’s most recognizable destinations.

Ayder is particularly associated with the region’s highland culture, while Fırtına Valley is known for its dramatic mountainous environment. Zilkale adds another historical dimension, standing amid the rugged scenery of the surrounding landscape.

Together, these stops demonstrate why the Black Sea has become increasingly attractive to travellers looking for alternatives to Türkiye’s traditional coastal and city destinations.

The appeal is not limited to one spectacular viewpoint. Instead, the experience comes from the relationship between forests, valleys, historic structures and local communities.

From Mençuna Waterfall to Borçka Karagöl

The journey eventually reaches Mençuna Waterfall and Borçka Karagöl in Artvin, extending the series into some of the region’s most striking natural surroundings.

The changing scenery gives Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz a broad visual range. Waterfalls, mountain lakes, forests and elevated landscapes create a natural rhythm throughout the production.

What stands out is the emphasis on the many shades of green found across the Eastern Black Sea. The region’s geography naturally lends itself to cinematic photography, while its cultural traditions provide another layer beyond the scenery.

A Tourism Story Told Through Entertainment

The project was developed by the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) as part of Go Türkiye’s promotional storytelling. Emre Kavuk wrote the series, while Ketche (Hakan Kırvavaç) directed it.

That creative combination is important because destination promotion can easily become predictable when it relies only on postcard-style imagery. A mini-series offers a different route: audiences can experience a place through personalities, movement and narrative rather than simply being shown a list of attractions.

For viewers outside Türkiye, this may be one of the production’s greatest strengths.

The series introduces Trabzon, Rize and Artvin not merely as tourist stops, but as connected parts of a larger regional journey.

Why Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz Is Worth Watching

Kalbimin Rotası Karadeniz arrives at an interesting intersection between Turkish entertainment and destination storytelling. Fans of Cemre Baysel and Mert Yazıcıoğlu have a reason to watch, while travellers interested in the Turkish Black Sea coast and highlands can discover another side of the country.

From Uzungöl and Sumela Monastery to Ayder, Fırtına Valley, Mençuna Waterfall and Borçka Karagöl, the production offers an extensive visual tour of northeastern Türkiye.

Ultimately, the series’ strongest idea is simple: sometimes the destination is not just where a story happens. The destination is the story.
